A1Tent and canopy sourcing desk

Tents and canopies, pitched to spec before they ship

Pitchmere is a tent and canopy sourcing desk. We work direct with vetted partner factories in the Chinese tent clusters, put every line on a pitch plate with its real footprint and kit list, collect the test reports your market asks for and check each lot before it leaves. Start from the fourteen lines or send a brief.

Fourteen lines in three families

C1-C5 / B1-B5 / E1-E4

Every line has a pitch plate: a top-view stake-out drawing at the true footprint of a reference model, with stake, guy-line and weight points, the peak height and a kit list of the parts a brand can change. Camping tents carry the range, instant and beach tents carry the season, canopies and event tents carry the commercial programs.

Claims you can stand behind

ISO 811 - CPAI-84 - NFPA 701 - AS 4174

Most returns and disputes start with a claim the tent cannot keep. A hydrostatic head figure is a fabric test to ISO 811, not a promise about the finished tent; seams, zips and pitch decide that. A canopy has no honest wind rating, only an anchoring plan: stakes, guy lines and roughly 40 lb of weight per leg as an industry convention. Flame resistance is stated per test report to CPAI-84, ASTM F3431 or NFPA 701, and UV protection per AATCC 183 or AS 4174. The compliance guide sets out what each market asks for.

Where tents are made in China

Jinhua - Ningbo - Linhai - Yangzhou

China exported about 1.9 billion US dollars of synthetic-fibre tents in 2024 according to its own customs filings (UN Comtrade), and OEC puts its share of world exports in the category at roughly 60 percent. The volume comes from specialised clusters: Jinhua alone shipped 880 million yuan of tents and camping goods in January to July 2024, a quarter of Zhejiang's total, according to Jinhua Customs. The desk works with partner factories in each cluster. See the cluster map.

  2. ECanopies and gazebosLinhai in Taizhou: pop-up canopies, gazebos and outdoor leisure products, a cluster of more than 1,000 firms.
  3. EEvent and frame tentsChangzhou, Zhuhai and Shanghai: PVC party tents, aluminium frame structures and larger event tents.

Programs for the way you sell

8 buyer types

A rental company needs frames that survive a hundred set-ups and tops that pass a fire inspection; a marketplace seller needs honest capacity and size claims and cartons that survive a fulfilment centre; a retailer needs a shelf-ready range for the season; a brand owner needs its own fabric, colours and carry bag. Each buyer page sets out the lines, quantities, reports and checkpoints that fit that channel.

    B3

Where the tents have to work

    6 field settings

A family tent has to stay dry through a night of rain; a backpacking tent has to weigh what the listing says; a beach shelter has to stay put in sand and fit local beach rules; a vendor canopy has to stand all day on a paved square. The setting decides the fabric, the frame, the anchoring and the test plan.

      C1

      Fabrics, frames and finishing

      Fabric - poles - seams - print

Two tents that look alike in a photo can differ in denier, coating, pole alloy, leg wall thickness and seam taping. These pages explain each component, what drives cost and durability, and which details a buyer should fix in the specification.

        C2

        Partner factories, audits and process

        Clusters - audit - process

Pitchmere does not own a factory. The desk shortlists partner factories by tent type and cluster, audits them against the order, follows production from fabric cutting to carton and keeps the findings in the order file, so repeat orders start where the last one ended.

          C3

          Testing, inspection and compliance

          QC - lab - compliance

Pitch tests, water spray checks on seams, dimension and fabric weight checks, zipper and pole checks, print colour checks for custom canopies and carton drop tests to ISTA 1A, sampled to ISO 2859-1 at general inspection level II. Lab reports for flame resistance, UV and kids products are issued to partner factories or to your brand per order and verified by the desk.

            C4

            MOQ, private label and logistics

            OEM - packing - shipping - MOQ

Typical starting points: existing styles with your logo or colours from 300-500 tents per style, 10x10 canopies and printed kits from 20-50 sets per style, samples in 7-15 days and bulk in 30-45 days (45-60 days custom), always confirmed in writing for each order. Tents ship by volume, so carton size decides freight cost.

              D1

              Field notes for buyers

              100 notes

Send the tent types you need, sizes or capacity, fabric and frame preferences, quantity per style and your market. The desk replies in writing with matched factories, a spec sheet, the test reports your market asks for and the reference MOQ.
